Kitchen is the part of our house that is most used. It is considered the heart of a home. When we think of kitchen, we think of the appliances that go with. Home is where the heart is. And the heart of the home is the kitchen. The kitchen is where the family spends more time together. My 1st memory of my mom is in the kitchen. Seeing her preparing food on the kitchen table while I seat besides her, mixing batters for the cookies or kneading the dough on top of the kitchen table. I remember doing my drawing and coloring on the kitchen table while my dad does his paper works. Doing the papier-mâché volcano on the kitchen table while my dad helped. Those are some of the fond childhood memories that took place in the kitchen. read more »

Kitchen table is one of the most used and abused surface in our home. There are several kitchen table surfaces you can choose from. It can be wood (stained or natural color or processed), tiled, laminated, stainless steel or glass. If you have children or using the kitchen table to prepare the food for your family or doing school projects probably on your kitchen table, these can be hard on the kitchen table surface especially if it’s wood or glass. We spend more time and money in choosing our dining table and rarely give a second look at the kitchen table. Kitchen tables have so many functions. That is where we usually eat our breakfast, do our bills and paper works. And sometimes that is where we eat our dinner, especially if we want an informal setting.

When designing a kitchen, we put emphasis and considerable time and money on the type of cabinet and fixtures, kitchen sink and appliances. We design our kitchen to be perfect for our family. Kitchen table is part of the kitchen and it can enhance the function and design of the kitchen. We too must put in some consideration in buying a kitchen table.
Look into the remaining space in the kitchen.
Don’t just go out and buy. Measure 1st where you want to put the table. Either you want your kitchen table for the small corner nook of the kitchen or in the center of your kitchen. Give enough space for the chairs around 2 ½ feet or some what more room around 3 feet. read more »
